PSSSB Notification 2021: Exam Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria, Fee, Vacancy and Salary Details

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has recently released the official notification for the recruitment of warders and matrons. Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB), Mohali Punjab is a State Authority under the supervision of the State Government. This board conducts several examinations for recruiting personnel. Recently, it has released notification to conduct examinations for the post of warder and matron. It has issued a total of 847 vacancies of which 815 are for warder(only males) and 32 for Matron(only females). Interested candidates are required to fill the exam online and print their admit cards with the help of a registration number and password.

The eligibility criteria for PSSSB recruitment for warder and matron is elaborated below:

Age Eligibility:

Age eligibility for the post of warder of the different categories is mentioned hereunder:

Educational Eligibility:

Education qualification required for the post of Warder and Matron is given below:

  1. Warder - 12th passed with Punjabi up to 10th as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language which may be specified by the Government from time to time.

  2. Matron - 12th passed with Punjabi up to 10th as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language which may be specified by the Government from time to time.

Physical Eligibility:

Candidates need to clear physical measurement test (PMT)  and its requirements are mentioned below:

Minimum Height: 5 feet 3 inches

Weight: 50 kg and above

Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles) (must not be colour blind)

 

Physical Efficiency Eligibility:

Candidates need to qualify the physical efficiency test (PET) by fulfilling the given requirements. Those who are applying for warder need to fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned below:

PSSSB Selection Process

  • Candidates will be assessed on the basis of written exam i.e. Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ).

  • Candidates need to score 40% marks in this examination. 

  • Exam will be conducted in online mode.

  • Candidates are required to qualify the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

How to apply for the exam?

  • Visit official website sssb.punjab.gov.in

  • Click on ‘Online application form’.

  • Read instructions before filling the online form for the recruitment of the 847 posts. 

  • Check the complete procedure of submitting online requests mentioned on the authorized website under the menu “user manual’’.

  • Candidates need to pay online for the exam.

PSSSB Salary Structure

PSSSB has also mentioned the pay scale for the warder and matron in their official notification. Candidates who will clear the exam will be entitled to the pay scale as described in the notification.  The initial pay scale for both warder and matron is Rs 19,900.

Ques1. How can I apply for this exam?

Ans: You can apply for this exam online by visiting the official website of PSSSB and filling the necessary details on the form carefully. Afterwards, you can download your admit card by filling in your registration number and password.

Ques2. What is the last date for the online application of this exam?

Ans: You can fill this form online upto 31 May 2021 ( upto 5 PM). Last date for paying fee through bank challan is 2 June 2021.

Ques3. What is education eligibility to apply for PSSSB Warder/Matron exam?

Ans: Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized education board and have opted punjabi as compulsory subject in 10th class are eligible to fill this exam.

Ques4. What is the selection procedure of this exam?

Ans: Candidates need to qualify at least 40 % marks in the written test. Objective-type questions will be asked in the written exam. Additionally, candidates need to clear the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). 

Ques5. What is the online registration fee for  PSSSB Warder/Matron exam?

Ans: Online registration fee is different for every category. For general category it is Rs 1,000, for SC/ST/BC category it is Rs 250, for ex-servicemen and dependent it is Rs 200.

Ans: You can register yourself for the PSSSB Warder/Matron exam from 10th May 2021

Ques7. How much salary will I get for the post of Warder/Matron in PSSSB?

Ans: Candidates who clear the exam, will be entitled to initial pay scale of Rs 19,900.

Ans: Candidates who are between 18 to 27 years of age are eligible to apply for the  PSSSB Warder/Matron exam.

Ques9. Are widows eligible to apply for this exam?

Ques10. Is this exam only for the candidates of Punjab?

Ans: Anyone who has studied Punjabi language in 10th class and cleared 12th class from a recognized board is eligible to appear for the PSSSB Warder/Matron exam.
