1. The candidate should be a citizen of India, who has not obtained the citizenship/permanent residency/green card of any other country.
2. The minimum age to appear for the exam is 18 years as on January 1st, 2024 and the maximum age should be 28 years as on January 1st, 2024.
Age relaxation is also provided to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, who are residents of Punjab. Those clearing the stage-I will have to appear for the second stage i.e. Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT).

Step 2: To apply for the District Cadre, the candidates are required to fill in 15 district preferences to which the candidate would want to be allocated in case of final selection.

Selection Procedure
The selection process will carried out through a Common Application Form (CAF) and Common Computer Based (CBT) process followed by Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) with specified qualifying parameters.
Also, the candidates must be sure about the selection of their choice of cadres as no request for any change in this will be considered in the future.
Three-Stage Selection Process
Stage-I: The first stage of the exam procedure will have two papers i.e. paper I and paper II. The latter shall be qualifying in nature.
Stage-II: The second stage will consist of Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). Both Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test shall be qualifying in nature.
Stage-III: It will consist of Document Scrutiny. During the document scrutiny, you have to submit the following documents.

(b) As per Section 4 (b) of the Punjab Police Act, 2007, transfer of a member from one cadre to another cadre shall not be allowed.
The pay scale of the post-Constable is Rs. 19,900/- and the minimum pay admissible of Rs. 19,900/- per month for three years from the date of joining in service.
