Punjab Police Head Constable Eligibility Criteria (Age & Qualification)
Age Limit:
As on 1st January 2021, a candidate should have attained the age of 21 years but should not have attained the age of 28 years, provided further that:

SC/ST/BC candidates shall be given relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years.
-
Ex-Servicemen shall be given relaxation in the upper age limit by 3 years, plus the number of years of service rendered/served by them in the Indian Defence Forces.
-
Serving government employees (State Govt. or Central Govt.) shall be given relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years, but they should not have attained the age of 33 years, as on 1st January 2021.
Educational Qualification:
The minimum educational qualification for the post of head constable is graduation from a recognized university or its equivalent. Also, Candidates must have passed the Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.
Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Procedure
Interested and eligible candidates need to channel through the following phases to get selected as head constables:

Computer-Based Exam (2 papers)

Physical Screening Test
Note: Only candidates who clear the Written Test will be eligible for the Physical Screening Test (PST), which will be qualifying in nature. No marks will be awarded for the PST, but all candidates must clear the prescribed fitness trial events. Also, merit will be drawn up purely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Computer Based Written Examination.
Punjab Police Head Constable Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for Punjab Police Head Constable 2021 is given as follows:

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers of 2 hours duration each will comprise of 100 Multiple Choice Questions for each paper with four marks awarded for every correct answer.

Negative marking for each incorrect answer shall be to the extent of 25% of the marks assigned to a question.
