SBI CLERK Exam 2017

Every year State Bank of India conducts Clerk Examination in the month of June/July. The exam notification for SBI Clerk 2017 is expected in the month of June 2017 (Tentative). The candidates who are eligible for the post of SBI Clerk Exam 2017 can apply for the same. Those who will qualify in SBI Clerk 2017 prelims will be eligible to appear for SBI Clerk main examination. The SBI Clerk Main 2017 examination will be held in the month of January 2018 (Tentative).

SBI conducts the online examination in two stages preliminary and mains. The SBI Clerk 2017 is expected to be held in the month of October-November 2017.

SBI Clerk Notification 2017

SBI is going to announce its official notification for SBI Clerk 2017 in the month of June 2017 (tentatively).SBI holds the complete recruitment process for the selection of candidates for the post of clerks in various branches of State Bank of India. The selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India.

There are three levels of selection process consisting of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by an Interview. Candidates have to crack all the levels of exam to get shortlisted and go on to the next level. Final selection will be on the basis of the rank scored in the Mains and Interview.

SBI Clerk Exam Centre

The SBI Clerk exam will be held online at various centers all over India and the aspirants can cite their options at the time of filling the online application.

Even if there are no posts lying vacant in any preferred venues but still SBI allows an exam center other than the choices made by an applicant. 

SBI is authorized to add or remove an exam center. The candidates can’t make any request to change the exam center. Any offensive behavior at the examination center can lead to deletion of the application.

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2017

Every year Clerks are recruited through a Common Written Examination (CWE), popularly known as the SBI Clerk exam. The selection process of SBI Clerk Exam consists of 3 phases (preliminary, mains and interview).  The candidates need to qualify each of them to reach the next phase.

The important steps of the SBI Clerk Recruitment Procedure are as follows:

  • Online Preliminary Examination: Adequate number of candidates in each category will be shortlisted by SBI depending upon the needs for Online Main Examination
  • Online Mains Examination: Candidates are required to qualify each section as well as the overall cut-off in the main exam to be eligible for interview.
  • Interview: Final phase of SBI has an interview which will also be coordinated by the SBI in every state and UT.
  • Final Result: The Final result will be declared on the basis of candidate’s overall performance in SBI Clerk Exam Mains and Interview Rounds.
  • Provisional Allotment: The provisional allotment of the eligible candidate will be released on the official website. The SBI allows the respective Branches to the candidates on the basis of the preferences they have made at the time of the online registration.

SBI is the sole authority to take up the entire selection process of selection i.e from the provisional selection with different branches till the joining at the given branch.

SBI Clerk 2017 Exam Pattern

The aspirants who want to appear in the SBI Clerk 2017 examination can follow the structure of the exam pattern is given below:

Examination Details:

  • The applicant will have to sit for an online examination. to solve the question papers.
  • The duration for the online written test in the preliminary examination is 1 hour.
  • While the duration of the online test in the main examination is 2 hour 40 minutes.
  • Keeping in mind the time duration, the candidates will have to solve their papers accordingly.
  • SBI Clerk Exam Pattern for Preliminary exam consists of 100 objective questions which need to be solved within 1-hour time duration.
  • The exam carries a total of 100 marks. The questions will be asked from various sections, including English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.
  • The Candidates will have to qualify in each section.
  • Main Examination:
  • The time duration for SBI Clerk Main Examination is 2 hour 40 minutes.
  • The exam pattern for SBI Clerk for the main examination will consist of 190 objective-type questions of 200 marks.
  • The questions will be divided into various sections – General / Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude.

Date of the SBI Clerk Interview will be released soon after the Main Exam.

Negative Marking:

  • An aspirant should always remember that there is a negative marking for every wrong answer.
  • There will be a deduction of 1/4th of marks for each wrong answer.
  • SBI Clerk Exam consists of objective type questions.
  • There will be objective type questions in each section and the candidates will have to pass in each section.
  • The candidates who qualify the main examination will be appointed according to their marks and rank in descending order in their respective categories.
  • Candidates need to score a minimum percentage mark as decided by the bank to be considered for final selection.
  • Scores acquired by the candidates in the Preliminary exam will not be considered for the preparation of the final merit list.
  • The scores obtained in the Mains and Interview will also be added.

The entire selection procedure will be carried out on the basis of merit list. It includes various stages- online examination with the Preliminary exam and Main exam and then by the test of official and/or local language and subject to govt. of India approval Interview.

SBI Clerk 2017 Cut off

SBI decides the cut off marks for the preliminary exam to shortlist the candidates for Mains exam and interview. The cutoff marks depend on a number of factors such as difficulty level of exam, no. of applicants etc. The cutoff marks for SBI Clerk preliminary exam 2017 will vary from 47 to 50.

SBI Clerk 2017 Eligibility Criteria

(i) For Junior Associates: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

(ii) For Junior Agricultural Associates: Graduation in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a Government recognized university/Institute.

Candidates who are currently in the final Semester/ year of Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview/joining, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 30 June 2016.

Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30 June 2016.

Age: Applicants need to ensure that their age must not be less than 20 years and more than 28 years as on 01 April 2017.

The applicants have to apply for SBI Clerk only through online mode from the official website. The applicants have to apply after the release of official notice for SBI Clerk recruitment 2017. They have to upload scanned images of their photographs & signatures in the appropriate format. The applicants are advised to recheck their entered details before they submit their applications.
