The applicant must complete the age bracket of 18 to 33 years as on 1st July 2019
(B) Essential Academic Qualifications for RRB Posts 2019:
Candidates must hold the degree of 10th Pass OR ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT for the post of Helper/Medical, Hospital Attendant, Assistant Pointsman, Gateman, Porter/ Hamal/ Sweeper cum porter
For Remaining Other Posts 10th pass plus NAC granted by NCVT OR 10th pass plus ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
RRB Group D 2019 Selection Process

Negative Marking: There will be negative marking for every wrong answer in the CBT. The penalty of 1/3rd of the marks is allotted for each wrong answer given by the candidate.
2. Physical Efficiency Tests (PET):
Candidates who will qualify CBT will be called for PET. The merit list will be two times the community wise total vacancy of the posts released in RRBs. It is mandatory to pass PET as it is a qualifying test for the posts advertised by RRBs.
The eligibility criterion for PET is given below:
Note: Candidates will disabilities are not included to appear in PET. Such candidates need to pass medical examination according to the Disabilities a person has.
3. Document Verification and Empanelling of selected Candidates:
The candidates who will qualify CBT and PET will be called for Document verification and impanel for the posts notified.
Medical Standard for the Post:-
Candidates called for DV (Document Verification) need to pass necessary medical fitness tests performed by the Railway Administration to make sure that the candidates are medically able-bodied to carry out the duties associated with the posts chosen by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the significant criteria of medical fitness for railway staff. The medical requirements for various medical standards for diverse categories are summarized below:

Q1. What is the minimum age to apply for this job?
Ans1. Age Limit is same for both RRB ALP and Technician Posts which are 18-31 years. However, there is some relaxation for some categories as per the notification norms.
Q2. What is the Selection Process of RRB Group D?
Ans2. Stages of Exam:
There shall be a Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates qualified in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Marks will be normalized in the CBT.
Q3. Will there be normalization of marks?
Ans3. Yes, marks will be normalized for all the stages of the exam.
Q4. Does RRB Group D follow negative marking in CBT?
Ans4. Yes, 1/3rd of the marks are deducted as penalty for every wrong answer.
Q5. How many candidates will be called for PET?
Ans5. The number of candidates to be called for PET will be three times the community wise total vacancies being notified by RRB.
Q6. Can a candidate choose any other exam language than English?
Ans6. Although English is an official language yet one can choose the other language from the list of languages mentioned in the notification. Generally, the languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Q7. What are the minimum educational qualifications required to apply for RRB GROUP D?
Ans7. The minimum educational qualification required is 10th pass (OR) ITI from institutions recognized by the Central or State Government of India.
Q8.What are the documents needed at the time of application registration?
Ans8. At the time of registration, you should keep ready the following:
- Scanned passport size photo (20kb-50kb).
- Scanned Caste certificate (50kb to 100kb). (If applicable)
- Scanned passport size photo of the scribe (20kb-50kb). (If applicable)
Q9. Can the Exam Center be changed after submitting the Online Application Form?
Ans9. No, the allotted time, date and venue details cannot be changed.
Q10. What is CBT?
Ans10. CBT stands for Computer Based Test, CBT is the first stage of examination which contains 100 objective type questions within duration of 90 minutes.
Q11. What are the maximum and minimum age limits for general category students?
Ans11. The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 33 years.
Q12. Which subjects are covered under Group D exam?
Ans12. The subjects included in Group D exam are General Science, General Awareness, Reasoning and Mathematics. All in all, there will be 100 objective type questions and the exam duration will be 90 minutes.
Q13. Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans13. Yes, there is negative marking in this exam. 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. So, candidates are advised not to try their guesses if they are not 100% sure about the answer.
Q14. What is the maximum age limit for OBC, SC, and ST?
Ans14. For OBC, the maximum age limit is 36 years and for SC/ST maximum age limit is 38 years.
Q15. Is there any restriction on the nationality of candidates in the RRB Group D 2020 Eligibility Criteria?
Ans15. Yes, only those who belong to India, Nepal and Bhutan can apply.
